Great
Museums is the first on going series in television
history about the diverse story of America as preserved
and presented in our nation's museums. We aim to deepen
public understanding of American cultural history
as a way of engaging all of us in creating community
wherever we live.
As
a consequence of quickly being cleared by public television
stations covering 80% of the American market, we are
able to leverage the reach of the television program
through www.greatmuseums.org and links to additional
resources offered by each museum profiled.
Moreover,
we are successfully reminding communities that museums
profiled on camera are just one gateway to the delight
of discovering and experiencing the cultural collections
of museums found in all of our "backyards."
Please
take a moment to thank our kind sponsor, the Eureka
Foundation, for its major underwriting support of
this project. Email eureka@greatmuseums.org.
